Day 1 CPT Policy

CPT Eligibility

Day-1 CPT is integral to the MS in Data Science and MS in Business Analytics programs at Saint Peter's University. The completion of these programs requires experiential learning, which can be fulfilled each term either through employment in a field directly related to the student's program of study (CPT) or via a research practicum (with a fee of $495 per term for the research practicum course).

F-1 international students are eligible for CPT throughout their enrollment in these programs. Curricular Practical Training (CPT) provides off-campus work authorization, whether paid or unpaid, aligning with the academic curriculum. In the professional hybrid Data Science and Business Analytics Master’s programs, experiential learning through CPT is mandatory for degree completion. Students must engage in work related to their field of study as a degree requirement, ensuring through approval by an academic advisor and a Designated School Official (DSO) at Saint Peter’s that their selected employment experience is appropriate for the program’s objectives.
