Day 1 CPT Regulation Key Points

  • CPT Integration: Integral to Graduate Business Programs for real-world experience.
  • Eligibility: Students can start CPT from their first semester if they have completed one full academic year of study in the U.S. (as per federal regulation 8CFR 214.2(f)(10)).
  • Experiential Learning Course: Enroll in the BA 500 Experiential Learning course every semester, based on employment or research.
  • CPT Limit: No set limit on CPT engagement, but over one year of full-time CPT disqualifies students from post-completion OPT.
  • Primary Focus: Education must take precedence over employment.
  • Program-Specific Availability: For newcomers on an F-1 visa, Day 1 CPT is available only in the PMBA and MS Information Technology Management programs.
  • Cost: No extra charge for CPT at CU.

Day 1 CPT Programs

International students in the Campbellsville University Graduate Program must take three courses per semester across three semesters (fall, spring, summer) each academic year. This includes a 3-credit hybrid course spanning 16 weeks with a mandatory in-person weekend session (Friday-Sunday) to maintain F1 status, a 3-credit online course, and a CPT course. The CPT course is an applied learning practicum where students apply their coursework to real-world situations through work or internships, making it an integral part of the program curriculum

MSCS [STEM]

With Campbellsville University’s accredited online computer science degree, you can become a leader in computer systems and IT. In this 1-2 year program, you’ll learn software engineering, cyberlaw, programming languages, computer networking, and more. After graduation, you'll be ready for careers in systems analysis, software development, and other IT fields. The fully online format allows you to learn from industry-experienced professors on your own schedule.

The master’s degree teaches you how computer systems interact and how to manage and troubleshoot them.
