Day 1 CPT Program

Can be satisfied in one of two ways

1. Current position in the field

• Submit Experiential Requirement Option Form
• Submit detailed job description or employer offer letter
• Submit employer Cooperative Agreement Form

2. Practicum requirement

  Zero-credit practicum course which will provide access to data for the purpose   of completing projects within the course.  Each course will have an attached   practicum option for those without current employment which satisfies the   experiential requirements.

Please note: International students must apply for CPT if employed. 

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree

• 3.0 cumulative GPA is the standard admission requirement.

  Applicants with a GPA below 3.0 may be considered for provisional admission on a case-by-case basis. Provisionally admitted students must earn a 3.0 GPA during their first 9–12 credit hours of study or first two semesters.

• Introduction to statistics

• English-language proficiency: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL 79 (0–120 scale), or Duolingo 110.
  
  An English-language test waiver may be considered for applicants who earned a degree in the U.S. or can provide evidence that a degree earned outside the U.S. was taught primarily in English. Waivers are subject to McDaniel's review and are not automatic.
  

Prepare the following document, CPTDog can help you apply for free:

• Upload the following:
• All university transcripts (Bachelor’s and Master’s, if applicable)*
• Current resume
• Copy of passport
• Copy of visa for transfer students
• English test if applicable (TOEFL, IELTS or Duolingo)
• Goal Statement (recommended, not required)

* Official transcripts will be required for enrollment

1. Submit an application online: After submission, you will receive an email within 1 business day containing the link to the program's application system and more information about the program.

2. Materials required to submit an application: Follow the email guidelines to complete the online application form

• All academic transcripts. For undergraduate degrees or graduate credits earned outside the U.S., submit an official course-by-course credential evaluation from a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
  
  McDaniel recommends World Education Services (WES) or The Evaluation Company but accepts evaluations from any NACES member.
• Resume
• Letter of intent detailing your professional goals relative to the Data Analytics program (recommended, not required)
• A copy of your current visa
• A copy of the passport with a photo
• Bank Statement: $25,000

1. Submit initial $250 deposit (applied to first semester tuition)

You will receive instructions to set up your My McDaniel Account.

2. You will be provided a McDaniel email account. All official communication will now go to this account.

3. International Students will need to complete the I-20 document requirements

• Financial support/sponsorship forms with bank statement(s)
• I-20 Transfer form
• CPT application and cooperative agreement form

4. Enrollment/Registration: all students are registered for classes by the Graduate and Professional Studies office

5. CPT Application to include:  

• A completed and signed CPT Agreement Form from your employer, along with the following:
• A current, official signed offer letter from the employer to the student on company letterhead
• A current, dated detailed job description on company letterhead listing the job title and responsibilities for the CPT position

Please note: Students currently on OPT should coordinate their SEVIS transfer release date carefully with both their current school and McDaniel.

OPT employment authorization ends on the SEVIS transfer release date, even if the expiration date printed on the EAD is later.

Students should not continue working under their previous OPT authorization after the SEVIS transfer release date. Employment under CPT may begin only after McDaniel authorizes CPT and issues a Form I-20 showing the approved CPT start date.

Do not rely on old fixed transfer dates. Confirm your individual SEVIS transfer release date, program start date, and CPT authorization date with the appropriate DSOs before transferring your record.
