Salem University (CPT is not available at this moment) adheres to USCIS regulations to authorize CPT for international students.
Eligibility for CPT from Program Start
❌ Current OPT and F1 students cannot obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
❌ Oversea applicants cannot obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
❌ Change of Status (to F1 Status) applicants cannot obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
“Day 1 CPT Universities” isn’t an official term. It refers to schools that may allow CPT from the first semester, but approval isn’t guaranteed. CPT typically takes 5–15 business days after complete documents are submitted.

CPT authorization needs to be renewed every term.
CPT is not required for graduation.
