Harrisburg University of Science and Technology adheres to USCIS regulations to authorize CPT for international students.
Eligibility for CPT from Program Start
✅ Current OPT and F1 students may obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
✅ Oversea applicants may obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
✅ Change of Status (to F1 Status) applicants may obtain CPT Authorization from Day 1 of the program.
“Day 1 CPT Universities” isn’t an official term. It refers to schools that may allow CPT from the first semester, but approval isn’t guaranteed. CPT typically takes 5–15 business days after complete documents are submitted.
CPT Details
CPT authorization needs to be renewed every year.
CPT is required for graduation.
- CPT is an integral part of the programs, and participation is required. CPT is authorized for the duration of the 2-year program with no gaps or breaks.
- However, the university offers flexibility based on each student’s employment situation, and holding a job is not strictly mandatory.
