St. Francis College
In 1858, a group of Franciscan Brothers from Ireland came to Brooklyn to educate the large numbers of immigrants arriving in America, opening St. Francis Academy in 1859. It was the first private school in the diocese of Brooklyn. In 2021, the College announced a transformative initiative designed to restructure academic and programmatic offerings to align with 21st-century career needs while expanding the population whom the College serves, locally and internationally. Currently, it offers 4 STEM master's programs that support Day 1 CPT options.

Day 1 CPT Policies
WUST permits students to initiate their CPT work authorizations at the start of each semester. If a student does not have a job offer at the beginning of the semester, they can opt to apply for CPT at any point during the program when they are prepared, provided they have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Not meeting this requirement may lead to the termination of their CPT.
On-Site Requirement
- Students are required to attend on-campus classes during the third, sixth, and ninth weeks of each semester, totaling three in-person sessions per semester.
- The remainder of the coursework can be completed online, providing flexibility and convenience for students balancing academics with professional commitments.
Vacation Policy
WUST offers a Hybrid learning format, with graduate programs designed to be completed in 20 months. However, if students need a break, they may take a leave of absence after completing three semesters. During this leave, students can still utilize CPT, potentially extending the program's total duration beyond 20 months.
