USCIS has just announced via official news that 2024 Fiscal Year H-1B Second Lottery is wrapped up.
Additional H-1B lottery draws for fiscal year 2024, which were announced and conducted by USCIS in the past 5 days are officially finished.
The government institution claims in its most recent news article that a "sufficient number" of new draws were randomly selected to reach the pre-set quota, which is the 85,000 annual H-1B cap.
All results are now officially out, so check with your employer to see if your case is marked "SELECTED."
If the status remains "PENDING" or "NOT SELECTED," the petitioner was not selected in the initial or the second round of the H-1B lottery.
While hope still stands for a third round H-1B lottery, as it happened just 2 years ago, petitioners should expect to get results in early to mid-November if the third lottery is going to happen. USCIS will speak officially on the third round and whether it's going to happen once they review all cases for the initially and secondly filed selected applications.
The recently selected petitioner has 90 days to submit the H-1B application; hence all second-round H-1B applications should be closed by November.
